Commercial Performance Certificates (EPC)
What is a Commercial Energy Performance Certificate?
A Commercial energy performance certificate (EPC) tells you how energy efficient your Commercial property is and recommends improvements that would lead to a reduction in your energy bills.
The EPC also tells you the environmental impact of your property, based upon carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
Why do you need a Commercial EPC?
From January 2009 all commercial buildings that are offered for sale or let are legally required to have a commercial EPC from the point at which marketing begins.
For a building to require an EPC it must fit the following criteria:-
- It must have a roof and walls to be classed as a building.
- There must be energy used to condition the indoor climate (such as heating, air conditioning, or mechanical ventilation). Lighting and hot water do not condition the indoor climate.
We current offer commercial EPC’s to level 3, the criteria is as follows:-
- 50 – 2500 square metres
- Simple heating systems (up to 100kW)
- Simple air condition (up to 12kW)
